The Fulton CDA has taken an active roll in the national “Get the Lead Out” campaign by providing education and promoting awareness to residents regarding lead based paint and its associated hazards.  The Fulton CDA hosts a series of Lead Safe Work Practices training courses for contractors, homeowners, or anyone that may become involved with the stabilization of painted surfaces that may contain lead based paint.

The Fulton CDA also provides testing and assessments throughout central New York. The agency currently has an XRF analyzer and two E.P.A. certified Risk Assessors on staff that do XRF testing, dust wipe sampling and environmental investigations for households that may have children exposed to lead based paint hazards. The CDA staff is committed to the fight against lead based paint poisoning; training and conferences relative to new developments in the field are regularly attended.
