FULTON CDA AWARDED $40,976 HOUSING COUNSELING GRANT

The Fulton Community Development Agency is pleased to announce its inclusion as one of over 500 national, regional and local organizations receiving a housing counseling grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Obama administration has allocated nearly $73 million in HUD funding nationwide to enhance opportunities for households to find housing or maintain the homes they have.

As a HUD-approved Housing Counseling Agency, Fulton CDA has successfully secured $40,976 in grant funding for the up-coming year to continue and expand upon the services provided to the community through this program. Counseling services related to the following areas are currently provided: rental housing needs, fair housing issues, pre-purchase and homebuyer assistance, mortgage delinquency/default issues, post-purchase non-delinquent and rehabilitation problems. Those with concerns regarding the above-noted issues are encouraged to contact our agency.

THE CITY OF FULTON AWARDED A $377,500 NYS CDBG GRANT

The City of Fulton is proud to announce it has been awarded a grant from the New York State Housing Trust Fund, through the Office for Community Renewal, to continue the efforts to Promote Affordable Housing within the City. The total funding of $377,500 will help complete the efforts for the Phillips Street Project. This will include the last phase of 4 Single-Family Homes to be constructed on that site. This funding shall also continue the efforts for First Time Homebuyers in the City of Fulton, and will help address the Housing Rehabilitation of some of the worst properties identified in the City by local officials. All of these efforts strongly promote Neighborhood Revitalization and Community Stabilization.

“This funding is crucial to complete many of the projects currently underway within the City of Fulton”, said Joseph Fiumara, Executive Director of the Fulton Community Development Agency. “I must commend my staff for the hard work involved with this funding application; we worked very hard to demonstrate the need for these activities. This funding really comes at an important time when we can use a boost to our local economy. This funding will seed not only Affordable Housing, but also expands on Construction and Housing Services Jobs.”
